Thirty-eight members of the SSC Community joined the Walk for Creation which ushered the start of the Season of Creation last September 1, 2018 at the Christ the King Mission Seminary in Quezon City. The Walk for Creation is a celebration of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation instituted by Pope Francis. The event started with a symbolic walk where there were seven stations or points of reflections on the different issues threatening Mother Earth. The walk culminated with a celebration of the Eucharist to inspire everyone to embrace the beauty and pain of people’s interconnection with creation.
More than 2000 individuals coming from schools, parishes, and institutions joined the event. Seedlings of trees were distributed and Instructions were given that the trees should be planted to continue the task of protecting the Earth. The #TreeGederforCreation was adopted to enjoin everyone to be together in this commitment.
