Students Showcase Talents in Peace Camp 2019

June 19,2020

Celebrating Christmas and New Year in the spirit of Scholastican tradition, the whole SSC community gathered for the annual Peace Camp at the school field last December 20, 2019.

The program began with medleys of Christmas music performed by SSC’s School of Music which hyped up the audience to prepare them for the upcoming presentations.

The performance was followed by Dulaang Iskolastika’s enactment of the annually staged Filipino Christmas tradition, Panunuluyan ー a modern play that commemorated Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem for the safety of Jesus’ birth.

Rev. Fr. Placid Acta, OSB, then led the Institutional Holy Eucharistic Mass, wherein he preached that the true essence of Christmas is not just the act of gift-giving but also the continual exaltation of Jesus’ presence by finding peace within one’s self and in others.

Students from both the high school and college units worked together to conduct a Youth Camp Worship Concert. They ended the celebration performing iconic hits, including “Break Through” by Red Rocks Worship and “Tala” by Sarah Geronimo.
