SSC Graders bag awards at the 10th Sci-Math Interschool Challenge
Last October 13, 2018 SSC, thirty – one (31) students from Grades 4 – 6 represented SSC – Manila at the 10th Sci-Math Interschool Challenge held at De La Salle University Integrated School – Laguna Campus. The students represented the school in three of the ten categories, namely, Sci-Math Quiz Bee, Sci-Math Poster Making and Eco Dance.
Allysa Breanna Canillas, Elisha Therese Marasigan and Sofia Agito, all 5th graders, bagged first (1st) runner – up for Sci-Math Quiz Bee. The quiz bee questions covers Science and Health, Numeration System, Number Theory, Geometry, Rational Numbers, Measurements, and Information Technology. For the Sci-Math Poster Making, Shaunna Illysia Castro, a 6th grader, was awarded second (2nd) runner – up where they were tasked to make a poster that would focus on the theme of this year’s 10th Sci-Math. The SSC team’s biggest group (27 students) was composed of Grades 4 – 6 danced their way to be this year’s Eco Dance second (2nd) runner – up. The Eco Dance team is composed of the following students: Lillian Elizabeth Guerrea, Stephanie Quindong, Monica Mesa, Raine Isabel Eslabon, Christa Capilitan, Cassandra Garcia, Daphne Reuwayne Saunders, Sarah Nel Pastores, Denise Sabangan, Gabrielle Diwa, Christiana Capilitan, Shae Catalan, Darla Tablizo, Yeji Shim, Luthien Rodriguez, Catherine Therese Serafin, Xabrina Perez, Bettina Star Buenaventura, Ana Melissa Kiersten Pantal, Juliana Maria Mikaela Dizon, Amanda Dela Cruz, Amanda Joaquin, Myrian Baldeo, Maxine Corcuera, Breeana Gamboa, Lara Hernandez and Levilyn Lusterio.
This year’s theme was A Decade of Creating Excellence for the People in Leading Innovations for Collective Prosperity. This activity aims to increase students’ awareness on how their Science, Math, Arts and Technology education can help solve problems related to the improvement of all in the society.
