Movie under the Stars 2014
Last November 28 (Friday), the SSC Student Council once again held its “Movie Under the Stars” featuring the movie “A Walk to Remember”. “A Walk to Remember” is a 2002 American teen romantic drama film based on the 1999 romance novel of Nicholas Sparks. The movie showed how Jamie Sullivan, who is quiet and bookish, was able to change the notorious Landon Carter into a better man. Unfortunately, in the final stretch of the movie, Jamie confesses to Landon that she has terminal leukemia and has stopped responding to treatments. After Jamie was hospitalized, they eventually got married in the same chapel Jamie’s parents were married in. Sadly, Jamie passed away shortly after their marriage. Four years later, Landon visits Jamie’s father and shows that he is still a better person because of Jamie even after her death. The movie showed how two people can fall in love with each other despite the disparity of their personalities and clearly showed what true love means. The students who watched the movie was really touched with the lesson of the movie and some even said that they were able to relate with it. Before the movie started, the College Choir serenaded the audience with the song “Cry” which is very much related to the movie. The SSC Student Council also gave some sweets during the movie. Surely everyone who watched enjoyed “Movie under the Stars” and definitely look forward for another movie to be featured.
