High School Faculty Concert 2014
The students of the high school unit roared and stomped in glee as they watched their teachers sing, dance and have fun during the high school faculty concert “KAMI PA RIN! The Voice of the Boys” last March 14, 2014 at the Sr. Kuniberta Hall. This benefit concert aimed to raise funds for the HSFA and Tanggapan ng Kalinga for the benefit of sponsored schools- Rafael Palma Elemetary School and Tanauan Elementary School in Leyte. As part of the title suggests, the variety show showcased the voices of the male faculty as they underwent blind auditions for the judges’ and students’ votes. Among the faculty contestants, the last, Mr. Hansel Geneta, won the title of the Voice of the Boys for both shows 1 and 2 and Mr. Rholeo Virata won as voters’/students’ choice.
KAMI PA RIN showcased a variety of performances in both shows exhibiting the raw, the hidden, and the refined talents of the faculty. Both shows opened with an all-girl sing-and-dance mash-up of “Domino” and “TGIF” and closed with the whole faculty singing Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.” Throughout the festive spectacle of the concert the faculty also presented the vibrant ethnic dances from the North, the jazzy moves of ballroom, the nostalgic steps of the 90’s dance crazes, the energetic and captivating dances from the arcade as well as Idina Menzel favorites from the movie “Frozen” and the musical “Wicked” and the vocal prowess and musical styling of the faculty’s own sessionistas. The amazing performances, surprises and spectacles of the multi-talented high school teachers made the third installment of the faculty concert series – “KAMI NAMAN!” back in 2012, and “KAMI NANAMAN! Mr. Pogi Edition” back in 2013, an overwhelming success.
