Faculty of Business Attend 5th National Education Forum
Representing the different academic departments of the School of Business, the faculty of business attended the 5th National Education Forum organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) last 27 August 2015. The annual forum which has this year the theme “Aligning Business Education in the Context of ASEAN Economic Integration” was held in the AVR Penthouse of the Board of Investments (BOI), Makati City. A line up of prominent government officials and business executives graced the event with the Hon. Roman T. Romulo of the House of Representatives delivering the keynote speech. The other government officials who served as speakers were Atty. Tonisito Umali of the Department of Education and Dr. Oscar A. Torralba of the Commission on Higher Education.
The second part of the forum was delivered in a talk show format which dealt with the topic Human Resources and Professionals in ASEAN Economic Community. In this portion, three (3) speakers from the private business sector tackled various issues on the topic covering Filipino business professionals skills and traits, talent mapping initiative, enhancing creativity and innovativeness, and Philippine-Australian cross qualification.
Led by Dean Ramon R. Mañalac, the faculty members who attended were Prof. Delia Sarmiento (Chair, BIT/BISM); Dr. Ralph Sabio (Chair, BM); Prof. Robert Robang (Chair, IBEAD); and Prof. Francis Ian Quesada (Chair, FM).
