CSS visited SSC, the second time around
After their last visit in 2013, St. Scholastica’s College, Manila was again visited by College of St. Scholastica (CSS), Duluth, Minnesota, USA on January 7, 2015. The group, composed of faculty and 17 Nursing students, was headed by Ms Gina Butawan-Diaz. They were heartily welcomed and received by Prof. Virginia Fornias, VPAA, High School administrators, some faculty and 4th year high school students headed by Sr. Rosalina Fajardo, OSB, High School Principal. At the Sr. Caridad Barion Hall there was a presentation on CSS by Ms Diaz followed by interaction between the CSS and SSC students.
Afterwards, Sr. Mary Frances Dizon, OSB, SSC’s Acting President, welcomed the group at the Corazon Aquino and Justice Palma Board Room at Friedenshaus Hotel School, where they were served simple yet sumptuous snacks.
It has been a blessing to have built a relationship with co- Benedictines across the globe, started by Sr. Mary Thomas C. Prado, OSB, SSC’s former President, who also visited CSS in 2014. The said visit gave rise to SSC’s Strategic Initiative Team (SIT), which was mandated to study the possibility of implementing e-learning in SSC among other initiatives. More projects may materialize as SSC continues to establish its linkage and collaboration with CSS.
