SSC Sweeps Awards at the APPSAM National Children’s Leadership Assembly and Talent Fair

SSC Grade School sent 21 fifth and sixth graders to participate in the Association of Philippine Private School Administrators and Mentors’ (APPSAM) 3rd National Children’s Leadership Assembly and Talent Fair last November 14-16, 2013 at Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City. 21 schools participated in the event, coming from as far as Camarines Sur, Cagayan, Cebu, and Davao del Sur. The event was an opportunity for students to learn how to become competent and compassionate leaders and also to showcase their unique talents.
Cris ‘Kesz’ Valdez, recipient of the International Children’s Peace Prize, was among the speakers for the event, which had the theme “Developing the Leader in Me: Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow.” Each Scholastican delegate attended the plenary sessions and also competed against other student representatives in different competitions. SSC’s delegates won in 10 out of the 14 competitions they entered. The winners are as follows:

Mrs. Lillian Cristobal, Coordinator for Student Affairs, accompanied the students to the APPSAM assembly, along with Mrs. Flory Perez, Ms. Lily Yambao, and Ms. Ruth Gadia, who also served as coaches. The other coaches were Ms. Louisa Joaquin, Mrs. Yvette Pera, Mrs. Mariefe Beltran, Mrs. Rosalie Emaas, Mrs. Lavinia Escober, Mrs. Cielito Mirandilla, Ms. Imelda Garcia, Mrs. Catherine Dignaran, Ms. Amor Buenaventura, and Mrs. Lillibeth Launico.
With these successes in the APPSAM Congress, it is our hope that our SSC delegates will continue to guide and inspire others as leaders, so that through their good works, God may be glorified.
