Special Facilities and Venues

• St. Cecilia’s Hall. The Hall has been the venue of the countless concerts of renowned musicians since the early forties, the annual St. Cecilia’s Concert, and the graduation recital of the School of Music students. It is also the venue for activities sponsored by the different student organizations. It has a seating capacity of 1,068 and can accommodate a full orchestra and a 100-voice choir with two (2) grand pianos and one (1) baby grand. It is located at the St. Cecilia’s Building, which also houses the SSC Music Department. 

• Sr. Assumpta Filser Gym. The gymnasium is a fully-equipped facility for indoor athletic activities such as basketball and volleyball. It is open to individual or group of students, faculty and staff for recreation and intramurals. It is approximately 850 sq.m. in area and can accommodate 378 people (202 in the upper bleacher and 176 in the lower box). It is located at the fourth floor of the St. Ottilien Building. 

• Sr. Baptista Battig Hall (Mini-Theater). The Hall, which is named after the foundress of SSC’s School of Music, Sr. Baptista Battig, OSB, is used as a lecture and listening room. It can accommodate 60 people for orchestral rehearsals and for presentations that need interactive responses.

• Sr. Caridad Barrion Hall. The Hall is a venue for meetings, conferences, seminars, and social functions. It can also be converted into three small classrooms. It can accommodate about 120 people. It is located at the ground floor of the St. Mechtild Building.

• Sr. Ehrentrudis Eichenger Hall (Little Theater). The Hall has been a venue for institutional activities such as seminars, workshops, conferences, and stage plays. It has a seating capacity of 500. It is located on the fifth floor of the Sta. Maria Building. 

• Sr. Kuniberta Strathmann Hall. The Hall is a venue for general assemblies, symposia, lectures, workshops and other institutional school activities. It also serves as a function room for I-CATHY and HRM-related activities. It can accommodate 800 people. It is located at the third floor of the St. Ottilien Building.

• Piano Resource Center. The Center is a library extension geared mainly for the updating needs of music teachers and members of the Piano Teachers Guild. It is located right across the Music Library.

• Music Seminar Room. The Music Seminar Room is used specially for Master classes conducted by visiting concert artists and pedagogues. It can accommodate 50 people for seminars and various fora. The Music Seminar Room is at the 2nd Floor of St. Cecilia’s Building.

• Social Hall. The Social Hall serves as a study hall and occasionally an exhibit hall where students showcase their outputs in some of their subjects or organization activities. It is also used for other purposes such as fora, and social functions. It is located at the ground floor of the St. Hildegard Building.

• Amrhein Gallery. The gallery is an exhibit center for SSC Fine Arts students and faculty and for other artists who are invited to display their art works.
