Program Description

The Master of Science in Accountancy is a graduate program designed to meet the challenges of the third millennium.  It is programmed to train individuals to become leaders in the fields of business and accountancy.  From this carefully crafted progression of four intensive semesters of exposing the students to theoretical and empirical studies, they are expected to emerge with skills and concepts that will serve them for life, no matter what career they choose, be it in the academe or industry.

Program Objectives

The MSA program aims to:   

1. Develop high-caliber and socially responsible leaders in the field of accountancy;
2. Develop in the graduates both advanced technical competency in accounting and a broader understanding of business concepts and principles; and
3. Equip individuals with a broad and extensive training in research and education for the further enhancement of these areas.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the Master of Accountancy is based on a combination of factors. To be admitted, the applicant must have:

1. A baccalaureate degree in business, accountancy, or equivalent coursework;
2. A strong undergraduate grade point average (GPA);
3. Three letters of recommendation from professors or employers in accounting or related field; and
4. A personal statement of her/his educational and career objectives.

Program Requirements

1. A core of undergraduate foundation courses consisting of business, accounting, math and English courses and
2. The Master of Accountancy curriculum, which consists of 12 graduate courses.
