Lupang Hinirang
by Julian Felipe

Bayang magiliw,
Perlas ng Silanganan
Alab ng puso
Sa dibdib mo’y buhay.

Lupang hinirang
Duyan ka nang magiting
Sa manlulupig
Di ka pasisiil.

Sa dagat at bundok,
Sa simoy at sa langit mong bughaw,
May dilag ang tula
At awit sa paglayang minamahal.

Ang kislap ng watawat mo’y
Tagumpay na nagniningning:
Ang bituin at araw niya,
Kailan pa ma’y di magdidilim.

Lupa ng araw, ng luwalhati ‘t pagsinta
Buhay ay langit sa piling mo;
Aming ligaya, na pag may mang-aapi,
Ang mamamatay nang dahil sa iyo.

Panatang Makabayan

Panatang Makabayan
Iniibig ko ang Pilipinas,
Aking lupang sinilangan,
Tahanan ng aking lahi,
Kinukupkop ako at tinutulungan
Maging malakas, masipag at marangal.
Dahil mahal ko ang Pilipinas,
Diringgin ko ang payo
Ng aking magulang,
Susundin ko ang tuntunin ng paaralan,
Tutuparin ko ang tungkulin
Ng mamamayang makabayan:
Naglilingkod, nag-aaral at nagdarasal
Ng buong katapatan
Iaalay ko ang aking buhay,
Pangarap, pagsisikap
Sa bansang Pilipinas

10 Hallmarks of Benedictine Education

College Hymn

Come loyal Benedictine children
O come let us sing
Our voices raise with youthful hearts,
With youthful hearts aflame.

In praise of St. Scholastica
Let these walls ring in accents bright
Let these halls ring in accents bright
Bring out her glory and her name,

O’ glorious St. Scholastica,
O dove who flew to heaven on wings of love!
Strengthen our wings, as we go on our way.
Watch o’er our flight for we are prone to stray,
We stand here and salute thee, Alma Mater,
Alma Mater

We carry forth your vision and your aims,
Your noble aims
No matter where we roam your spirit ever
Alive within our hearts your name proclaims.

Lyrics by S.Angeline Arceo,OSB
based on Centennial Poem (Road to Ithaca) by Florina Castillo

I.    With hearts aflame we thank thee God,
For bounteous gifts untold,
Here we stand proud and singing
Praise and gladness now we hold.

Refrain:  Pray’r and work in love entwining,
 Hundred years of God’s delight
See us now in proud procession
Heralds of peace and joy.

  The Benedictine rule of life

Compels us to respond.
Guided by the Gospel’s might
Walking in the One True Light (Ref.)

III.    We gather here in unity
This legacy bestow
May this be our humble offering.
Then and now and ever more. (Ref.)

Let’s Cheer for St. Scholastica

Let’s cheer for St. Scholastica
Our voices raised in happiest song

Our joy, our pride, our guiding star
Oh, may she live for ages long;
Dear Alma Mater, here we come!
Your daughters true and faithful band
From north and south, from near and from afar.
Proclaim thee first of all, in all, in all the land.

Hymn to St. Scholastica
Words by: Sr. Mary John Mananzan, OSB / Sr. Mary Emmanuel de los Reyes, OSB
Music by: Sr. Mary Placid Abejo, OSB

I.  0 loved by God 0 purest dove who soared to blissful heights above;
Look down on us today who sing your glorious praises to the king.

Refrain: 0 pure and blest Scholastica,
0 pray to the Father above
that we may learn to walk in truth,
And ever seek the ways of love.

II.  From earthly joys you turned away
to tread your holy brother sway
     And happiness without alloy
you found in serving God with joy!

III.  You learned to know love’s mighty sway
     When Benedict declined to stay
To talk of heaven through the night
Your spouse refused not this delight.

IV.  And when life’s winter passed away
above the clouds you winged your way
and there with all the saints you sing
The joy of love’s eternal spring.

V.  All praise, honor, glory be to You
     Most bless ‘d Holy Trinity
     Your love unbounded did impart
     to Scholastica’s enraptured heart.

Hymn to St. Benedict
By: Benildus M. Maramba, OSB

I.  O blessed by God, Saint Benedict,
Let sadness not our hearts afflict.
As we our praise and tribute bring
Thy saintly life and glories sing.

Refrain: St. Benedictine to Thee we turn.
The secrets of God’s grace to learn
Oh, guide us by Thy wise decrees
that God alone we seek to please.

II.  God taught Thee to reject the wiles
of sinful words which men beguile
Then like a star that glitters bright
God made of Thee a holy light.

III.  In wondrous ray of God’s own light
The world appeared before thy sight
Then Thou the emptiness did see
of earthly things that what e’er they be.

IV.  Praise honor glory be to Thee.
     Most blessed, holy Trinity
     Thy love unbounded did impart
     to Benedict’s enraptured heart.

Fealty Song

I. We are here (we are here) dear SSC (dear SSC)
To laud your glories to the sky
We are daughters true
And we’ll stand by you (by you)

II. We will wave (we will wave)
our banner gay (banner gay)
As we are marching on our way
For with you our Mother dear
We’ll never fail, never fail
Hip, hip, a-hip hurray!

Refrain: Singing our song
We march, we march along
Hear our refrain
We sing again
Gaily we tread in ranks
With banners spread
Cheer, St. Scholastica
And with our hearts o’er flowing praises glowing
On we march!

(Repeat “We are here …”)

Fill us with loyalty
So we shall your proclaim
Happy we, strong and free
Though to a far land
Our footsteps may wander
take, take our fealty
Alma Mater is your name
Ever more rich or poor
Your praises shall we acclaim
Alma Mater, Alma Mater
Hail, Hail

(Repeat “We are here …”)
