Yakap Eskwela 2 renews its MOA and conducts trainings for students and faculty in Loon, Bohol
Last June 8-9, 2017, the Consortium of Benedictine Colleges of Metro Manila (CBCMM), which includes San Beda Mendiola, San Beda Alabang and St. Scholastica’s College, went to Loon, Bohol for the second phase of YAKAP ESKWELA.
YAKAP ESKWELA 2 was organized to support a selected school destroyed by the 2013 Bohol earthquake. Since 2013 the CBCMM has been providing school supplies and equipment to the Sacred Heat Academy in Loon, Bohol. Computers, LCD projectors and school supplies were donated to the parochial school.
The CBCMM group was a team of nine people, three representatives from each school. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between CBCMM, the Bishop of Bohol, His Eminence Bishop Vicente Uy, DD, and Fr. Ruel Ramon Tumangday, School Director of the Sacred Heart Academy, was renewed. This signified a renewed commitment to support the SHA in improving the quality of education provide by the school. Other activities followed in the Sacred Heart Academy campus. The San Beda schools facilitated the Leadership Training Program for the student leaders of SHA. Consultations with the guidance counselors were also done by San Beda Alabang. St. Scholastcia’s College, represented by Rebecca P. Marquez, Arche Ligo and Juanita Arrosa, conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training for the teachers. Needs articulation and other areas for collaboration and assistance were discussed as well with the School Director and Principal of SHA.
