VPAA Office Holds the 4th IFDS
The 4th Institutional Faculty Development Seminars (IFDS) sponsored by the Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs was held on May 29 and 30, 2014. It was during this assembly that faculty members, administrators, librarians and guidance counselors of the grade school, high school and college units were given the opportunity to listen and learn from various speakers on chosen topics that were significant to the practice of their profession and would hopefully make them better educators.
The seminar topics included: Ora et Labora with Sr. M. Lydia Villegas, OSB; The Art and Basics of Self-Defense with Mr. Conrado Leonardo, Jr.; Philippines Qualifications Framework (PQF) and ASEAN Qualifications Reference Framework (AQRF) with Hon. Teresita Manzala; Strategies in Handling Difficult Students with Dr. Sheila Marie Hocson; A Happy Me, A Productive Me: Everyday Strategies towards Emotional Well-being at Work with Ms. Karen Rose Vardeleon; and Research Writing Workshops with Ms. Jonna Marie Lim and Dr. Irish Sioson for the Grade School and High School Units and Dr. Antriman Orleans and Prof. Noel Christian Moratilla for the College Unit.
The topics were chosen based on the results of the needs assessment survey administered by the VPAA Office to all faculty members and administrators, as well as in accordance to this year’s focus under the same theme, Christ-centered Leaders: Renewing our Culture, Revitalizing our Community, Restoring the Integrity of Mother Earth with joy and hope, with Ora et Labora as the Benedictine value focus.
The Launching of the Journal of Action Research (JAR) was also held on the second day.
