Three Music Clubs Perform First Christmas Concert
The High School Music Ensemble, the Musicians’ Circle, and the Kapatid Music Ministry performed their first collaborated concert entitled “O, Christmas Three: Union in Music” at the Sr. Ehrentrudis Hall last December 12, 2018. The program started with an invocation followed by the opening remarks led by the presidents of each club: Ashley Morallos, Irish Ilagan, and Gianna Nicdao.
The concert began with the performances of the guitar groups of both the Musicians’ Circle and Music Ensemble under their trainers, Mr. Kriss Eusebio and Mr. Daniel Lopez. They performed several classic Christmas songs like “Christmas in Our Hearts,” “O Holy Night,” “We Three Kings,” and “Carol of the Bells.”
This was then followed by the piano group of the Music Ensemble, under the guidance of their trainer, Mr. Jonathan Pallera. They performed various Christmas several pieces including “Once Upon a December” from the movie Anastasia, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “A Waltzy Waltz,” “Silent Night,” “The First Nowell,” and “Miniature Minuet.” Afterward, members of the Musicians’ Circle performed the pieces “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Pasko Na Sinta Ko,” and “Sana Ngayong Pasko.”
The violin group of the Music Ensemble, under their trainer Mr. Cezar Brian Madridejos, performed several pieces such as “Munting Sanggol,” “Deck the Hall,” and ”The Holly & the Ivy.” These pieces featured the group’s young soloists Irish Ilagan and Maria Kraut. This was followed by a performance of one of the most famous Christmas songs, “Silent Night” from the Kapatid Music Ministry, and “Paglamig ng Hangin” from the singers of the Musicians’ Circle.
The next part of the program featured chamber performances by the High School Music Ensemble and the Musicians’ Circle’s String Ensemble. It concluded with a celebration of classic Christmas carols, performed in a medley by the three collaborating clubs, entitled “We Three Kings, O Christmas Tree, Ang Pasko ay Sumapit Medley”. This was arranged by Mr. Kriss Eusebio and conducted by Mr. Cezar Brian Madridejos.
