Sularaya is 4th out of 27 in Inter-School Dance Battle
The Sularaya Dance Troupe ranked 4th Place out of 27 teams in the Dance Supremacy Kings and Queens high school eliminations held at the Tanghalang Pasigueño last September 28.
The group performed a concept from the movie Dream Girls in the Queens (all-female) division.
Dance Supremacy (DS) is the first international urban dance competition held and hosted in the Philippines. Now on its 3rd year, DS launched the Dance Supremacy Kings & Queens: The Inter-School Division as a new series in addition to its existing categories that includes Small Crew & Big Crew Open Divisions.
Sularaya will be moving on to the Grand Finals on October 20 at the AFP Theater, Quezon City.
They thank their coaches, Mr. Melvin de Guzman and Ms. Vanessa Samson.
“They are very dedicated,” said Dania Siddiqui, a Grade 11 member of Sularaya. “Our preparation was only less than a month because of the class suspensions, but we were able to do our best. And we didn’t forget to thank the Lord,” she added. “We are claiming it—that this is our time—and we will win. We treat each other as family, not just teammates. We are very thankful for all the people who believed and supported us.”
