St. Scholastica’s College and San Miguel Pure Foods Sign MOA of Partnership for Business Students
A Memorandum of Agreement was signed last 26 September 2017 by St. Scholastica’s College and the San Miguel Pure Foods Company, Inc. to forge a partnership for SSC School of Business students’ office internship or on-the-job training (OJT) in the San Miguel Purefoods offices.
The tie-up was initially explored by Dean Ramon R. Mañalac of the School of Business with the San Miguel Purefoods Human Resources Division to open up more practicum or internship placement opportunities for SSC business students. San Miguel Pure Foods Co., Inc. is engaged in the manufacture and distribution of food products. It operates through the segments agro-industrial, processing and marketing of value-added refrigerated processed meats and canned meat products, and milling segment that produces and markets flour, flour mixes, and bakery ingredients. Starting this year, San Miguel Corporation announced that it will pour in as much as P75 billion into its traditional food business lines – which had taken the backseat in the conglomerate’s rapid expansion during the last decade (Daxim L. Lucas – Reporter / Philippine Daily Inquirer / January 03, 2017)
The MOA in a nutshell calls for cooperation in arranging for the placement of SSC business students to the practicum/on-the-job (OJT) program of offices and departments in the San Purefoods. Whenever possible too, the San Miguel Purefoods Company shall coordinate educational and academic events in company that will enhance the learning of the SSC business students.
