SSC – NSS Intramurals, a success

St. Scholastica’s College – Night Secondary School’s Intramurals 2016 held last January 28, 2016 was a success despite the brevity of time.

The activities started with a parade hosted by the JPIA officers and Athletes Association, after which an opening prayer was led by a 5th year student, Veronica Castillo. It was followed by the welcoming remarks and special dance number, respectively, by the JPIA group. Mr. Ian Dauson formally opened the different game competitions for various grade levels which were divided in two teams: Blue and White

Here’s the synopsis of the game events:

Basketball

Showing they’re the best, the Blue Team crushed the White Team, 8-6 and was declared champion in the Basketball Girls’ match.

Volleyball

Displaying tremendous net-endgame poise, the White Team wiped out Blue Team on two straight sets, 25-16; 25-9 to capture the championship.

Riding high on solid performance, power-hitting teammates Maan Nacion and Princess Vipinosa made brilliant playmaking skills by pouring in thunderous hits to outplay the opponent.

Chess

Blue Team’s Ana Medina used mental toughness to beat White Team’s Lhaedzhne Silvestre that enable her to earn an award in chess.

Tug-of-war

Bursting with energy, the unbelievable Blue Team downed White Team to win in the tug-of-war contest.

Sack Race

The White Team set them perfectly well by defeating the Blue Team in the sack race.

Obstacle Relay

The Blue Team was clearly toughened by their difficult path as they were outscored by the White Team, 1-0, 1-0

Badminton

Playing at a high level throughout, the energetic White Team staged a classic game to edge out the Blue Team, 22-20 ; 21 -17 ; 19-21 ; 21-6 in their powerful Badminton Doubles Match at Josephville area of the SSC Campus.

Scrabble

The White Team made use of their knowledge and overmatched the Blue Team to win in scrabble. This was held at the Kuniberta hall.

Cheerdance

In cheerdance, Grade 10 won the 1st Prize, Grade 7 placed second and Grade 9 placed third.
