SSC Business Team wins 2nd Runner-Up in the 2014 Inter-Collegiate Management Competition
The SSC School of Business Team competed against nine (9) other schools from National Capital Region (NCR) and Luzon in the recent inter-collegiate management competition. Representing the Scions were Johnna Paula S. Austria (BM3), Megan Adriana R. Soriaga (BM3), Ma. Chrizhel C. Francisco (BM3), Roelle Sharmaine C. Bito (MM3) and Thelma S. Pamani (FM3). St. Scholastica’s College team finished victoriously as it took the 2nd runner-up slot which was held last February 27 at the La Consolacion College, with Divine Word College of Laoag as the 1st runner-up, and the Far Eastern University, the top spot. The annual Management Quiz Bee was sponsored by the Council of Management Educators and Practitioners of the Philippines (COMEPP), of which Dean Ramon Mañalac is a Founding Director.
SSC was consistently in the third spot in the earlier rounds and finally bested the closest rival, the Pasig Catholic College after having answered correctly the last six (6) questions of the difficult round. The last few questions were crucial because SSC was just 5 points ahead and there was really no room for a mistake because each question was worth 15 points.
This year, SSC Business Team was able to regain a spot after having won the 1st Runner-Up in 2012. SSC also advances to the National Championship which will be held in Baguio around June or July. The Business Team was trained and coached by Dr. Ralph A. Sabio, Chairman of Business Management Department. Congratulations to the School of Business Team for another achievement! Let’s all pray for the Team’s success in the coming Nationals. Ora et Labora, Scholasticans!
