School Visit of Science Teachers to Ateneo De Mania High School
With all the changes ongoing in the Educational System of the Philippines, most specifically the transition to K-12 Educational System, the high school Science Teachers of St. Scholastica’s College decided to visit the Ateneo de Manila High School for benchmarking with their curriculum in Science. The said activity was held last September 9, 2014 from 8:30 am -10:30 am, where teachers got the opportunity to interact with the science Coordinator, Mr. Bilog of the Ateneo High School and to observe classes.
For the Ateneo de Manila, enhancement of the present curriculum is deemed more important than the number of years. The Singapore curriculum, in addition to the DEPED curriculum, along with readiness standard by CHED, was adopted by the Ateneo de Manila in preparation for its enhanced curriculum.
The teachers were divided into the areas of their specialization for classroom observation. Ms. Lomuntad and Ms. Catudio observed Grade 8 Science Classes; Ms. Sombilon, Ms. Badillo, and Mr. Galicia observed Grade 9 Science Classes; Mrs. Caparas and Mr. Javier observed Chemistry class; and Ms. Amado and Mr. Virata observed Physics class.
