JPIA continues its commitment to NSS

After its launch back in 2006, the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) once again renewed its commitment to the Night Secondary School through the JPIA – NSS Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing held on the 21st of July, 2015 at the Sr. Caridad Barrion Hall.

The JPIA will continue its sponsorship of (16) deserving students of the Night Secondary School by subsidizing their annual tuition fee and providing the students with a monthly cash allowance.

Signatories of the MOA included the Dean of the School Accountancy Prof. Ester Ledesma, School of Accountancy Chairperson and JPIA Moderato, Prof. Ronaldo Quiambao, NSS Principal Sr. Consilio Napi, OSB, Ms. Melanie Sayas, NSS Assistant Principal and JPIA President Jimemah Lugue.

In addition to the MOA signing, JPIA also turned over to the entire Grade 10 and 5th year students accounting kits containing accounting materials like worksheets, columnars, ballpens, accounting guidelines, calculator, and other accounting supplies. Drafting kits were also given which consisted of drafting materials such as pencils, protractors, rulers, and the like.

Alongside such kits, the JPIA also loaned fifty – nine (59) accounting books for the NSS students to use. Said books will be included in the JPIA Mini Library.

Various school books and pocketbooks were donated to the NSS by the first year BS Accountancy and Accounting Technology students.

Lastly, the JPIA renewed its commitment with the NSS Makakalikasang Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral ng Santa Iskolastika (MAKISAMA) in its fulfilment of its objectives of promoting social awareness and developing a sense of responsibility and realizing the school theme of Benedictine stewardship.

The said activity was graced by the Vice – President for Academic Affairs Ms. Virginia Fornias, Ms. Ellen Carbon, registrar, Dr. Remedios Ching, Dean of College, NSS faculty members and students and Student Council President Khamylle Castillo.
