JFinex and School Dean in Napindan Outreach
As one of the planned activities of the Council of Business Leaders in the School of Business, a short-trip outreach activity was spearheaded by the Junior Finance Executives (JFinex) last 30 January 2017. The destination was a Gawad Kalinga community located in Napindan, Taguig, Rizal.
The visit to the Napindan community was warmly welcomed by the community coordinators and a good number of eager young boys and girls who appeared to be very comfortable in the company of Scholastican big sisters.
The program started as soon as the children settled in their seats with a prayer led by one of the boys. Several games were played to the delight of the group which served as the ice breaker before another Scholastican big sister took over to lecture on Benedictine values. The theology session was interactive and was actively participated in by the children. Their receptiveness to the Benedictine teachings on good values was notable which only shows the formative influence of sustained reaching out of St. Scholastica outreach service program to the community. There is no question that the social action is consistently turning up faithful Catholic youth from areas of indigent families who otherwise may go wayward due to poverty and lack of quality attention.
The financial management major students were accompanied by Ms. Juanita Arrosa of the SSC Social Action Center and Dean Ramon R. Mañalac of the School of Business.
