High School Step-Up Program
The STEP-UP Program of the High School Unit is one of the institution’s responses to the challenge of implementing the K to 12 curriculum. It is a 25-day academic intervention program covering the core subjects of Math, Science, Filipino, Social Studies and English.
Specifically for SY 2013-2014, it aims to accommodate students who will qualify for a recalibrated curriculum vis-à-vis their age, academic performance and SAT results and to provide the qualified students with opportunities to grasp the minimum learning competencies intended for Grade 10. Effective SY 2014-2015, the program will cover Grades 7 and 8.
A total of 33 and 83 students from Grade 6 and Grade 8 availed of the STEP-UP Program respectively. Of these numbers 20 and 62 students reached the cut-off grade in Grade 6 and Grade 8 making them eligible to be promoted to Grade 8 and 10, respectively. The remaining 13% in Grade 6 and 21% in Grade 8 will be promoted to Grade 7 and Grade 9 respectively. A recognition rite was held last May 22, 2014 at the Sr. Ehrentrudis Hall. It was attended by Institutional administrators, High School teachers and parents. After the certificates of recognition were distributed, Ms. Frances Panis and Ms. Victoria Gatmaitan delivered their message on behalf of their batch mates for Grade 6 and Grade 8 respectively.
