High School Family Day 2016 @ SSC.MANILA
On Sunday, January 24, 2016 was held, coinciding with the opening of the 51st International Eucharistic Congress in Cebu, the Junior High School Unit, SSC-Manila Family Day. This event was spearheaded by the High School Parents Association chaired by Dr. Arlene Besa-Carabeo together with other Officers in partnership with the High School administrators, faculty and staff.
In the spirit of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, the one day family affair chose the theme: Scholastican Community: Channel of God’s Mercy. Central to a fruitful family life being the celebration of the Eucharist, the day commenced with the Holy Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Benhur Borja, SDB. This was followed by fun-filled and wholesome activities right after the Mass, such as blood – letting for Red Cross, Zumba and tug-of-war game for fitness and wellness, song and dance numbers rendered by students, and Robotics Science demo, among others.
The talk on Social Media and Nutella by Prof. Michele Alignay was enlightening and interesting, whereas the most awaited portion of the program was the announcement of the raffle tickets draw with major prizes at stake, such as cash prize, microwave oven, Samsung Galaxy tablet, and LCD 21 inches coloured TV, and other consolation prizes. The family festivity closed with the distribution of report cards for the third quarter.
We thank and congratulate all students, parents, faculty and school personnel for creating beautiful memories during the family day 2016, that in all things God may be glorified.
