Forum on the Trends in the U.S. – from Traditional Print Media to Multimedia

The Communication Society and the Law of Mass Media class of the Mass Communication Department recently held a media forum with Ms. Emily Rasinski as guest speaker. Ms. Rasinski who works in the Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy Manila provided an insightful and interactive presentation regarding the multimedia trends unfolding in the U.S..
Ms. Rasinski, who has worked as a photojournalist in multiple news agencies such as the New York Times and the Associated Press, also shared her experiences and thoughts on photojournalism as a powerful tool in bringing out extraordinary stories and perspectives from ordinary everyday events and occurrences.
Ms. Rasinski’s works have been recognized by the National Press Photographers Association in America, The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar, and The Southern Short Course. She was also part of a Pulitzer Prize finalist team in the “Breaking News Reporting” category for the coverage of the Kirkwood City Hall shootings.
The participants of the forum were senior Mass Communication students. Dean Ma. Asuncion Azcuna, Atty. Charlton Jules Romero and Prof. Tops Brugada graced the occasion.
