Economics Student Thesis is to be Presented at the Singapore Economic Review Conference (SERC) 2015
The thesis of a recent graduate (March 2015) of the International Business Economics and Diplomacy (IBEAD), School of Business was recently accepted by the Singapore Economic Review editor Professor Euston Quah to be presented at the Singapore Economic Review Conference (SERC) 2015. Fresh graduate Fe Evangelista did the thesis entitled “Governance and Investments: A Panel Data Study of ASEAN Member Countries” which she successfully defended before the panel of Economics faculty last March 2015 under the mentoring of Department Chair Robert Robang. Responding to the call for papers by the SERC 2015, she submitted the paper abstract to take the challenge.
According to its website, the “Singapore Economic Review (SER) has been a leading journal in economics in Asia since it was founded in 1956. The SER is a general economics journal devoted to publishing papers of high academic standard. It covers a wide range of economic issues, especially those impinging on Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. SER is also indexed in major economics indices such as the ISI Website of Knowledge; Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI); Google Scholar; EconLit; and RePec.”
The Conference where Ms. Evangelista is expected to deliver oral presentation of her paper will be held on 5-7 August 2015 at the Mandarin Orchard, Singapore. Ms. Evangelista’s participation in the said forum will not only enhance her outlook of economics as a discipline and its issues but will also help project the image of excellence of her alma mater. We wish Ms. Fe Evangelista the best of everything in her career.
