The Research Forum was graced by guest speaker, SSC alumna, Ms. Charlotte Sharon Aninion- De Guzman. She talked about “The age of social media and other Asian influence (K-Pop, Anime, Cosplay), emphasizing women empowerment and the women’s role in challenging existing notions and practices in the media that portray women in a certain way.
Her talk was then followed by second year student-presenters who shared their research outputs in their Communication Arts subject. Nicole Reyes and Krisha Mendavia presented their paper on “Killing Me Softly: The Connection of Family, Peers, and Social Status to Suicide” while Margaret Elinor Mayo and Nicole Erika Trinidad shared their research titled “Getting Online: The Benefits of e-Commerce”.
