Audit Firm Visit 2015 (KPMG & Isla Lipana)
Last December 4, 2015, 4th year students of BS Accountancy had their Audit Firm Visit in two of the outstanding audit firms in the country – R.G. Manabat & Co. and Isla Lipana & Co..
R.G. Manabat & Co. is the Philippine affiliate of KPMG, a global network of professional firms providing Audit, Tax and Advisory services. They operate in 155 countries and have more than 162,000 people working in member firms around the world. While Isla Lipana & Co., Philippine member firm of the Pricewaterhouse Cooper (PwC) global network, helps organizations and individuals create the value they’re looking for. Isla Lipana is a network of firms in 158 countries with more than 180,000 people who are committed to delivering quality in assurance, tax and advisory services.
This activity was prepared by Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants especially for the senior Accountancy students for them to be able explore and witness firsthand what really is happening in the corporate world, particularly in auditing firms. The audit firm visit also served as an educational field trip for the students’ subject, Management Consultancy. The 4BSA students were tasked to learn about the advisory divisions of both firms.
This activity was very helpful to the senior students, especially now that they are only one year away from graduation. Entering the buildings of these prestigious auditing firms served as an inspiration and motivation for them and gave them the opportunity to weigh their choices that will be vital to their future careers in the Accounting field.
The 4BSA students were accommodated by Mr. Arthur Buena one of the welcoming people of the Human Capital of Isla Lipana & Co., and Mr. Smith Dacasin and Ms. Monique Manalansan from R.G. Manabat & Co.
